Texas Techs business school administration met today to smash up two old residence halls, making way for a state-of-the-art business school. The three-story building will house graduate and undergrad facilities. Powered mostly by sun and wind energy, this will be the first green building for Texas Tech and the second green building for the city of Lubbock. The new facility is meant to attract the best students and best faculty and be the center of the north side of campus. "It was a coed dorm, it was a medical facility, I think thats where the first student medical center was, all kinds of things. But this is a really great place to have it. We can tear this down, build a cornerstone over here with this business school and really develop this part of the campus," says TTU Alum Alan White. Texas Tech hopes to break ground by this time next year and to be teaching in the building in the fall of 2011.
