Atmos announced they have repaired the natural gas line responsible for a evacuation at the area of Glenna Goodacre and University.

A construction crew damaged the 6-inch natural gas pipeline while boring under University Avenue.

Firefighters blocked off an area near Texas Tech's campus because of the gas leak around 10:30 a.m.

University Avenue, between Broadway and the Marsha Sharp Freeway, were shut down while authorities investigated the leak.

Several buildings in the area, including Starbucks and FedEx, were evacuated.

No one was injured.

The Lubbock Fire Marshall Robert Loveless advised streets, electrical utilities and local businesses will be cleared to reopen soon.

Loveless added no immediate hazards remain at this time.
