The Texas Tech series opener at Baylor on May 2 will air nationally on ESPN2, the Big 12 Conference announced Friday as part of the league's 2013 softball television schedule.

The Red Raiders and Baylor were originally scheduled to open their three-game series on Fri., May 3, but will instead move to a Thursday-Saturday series. It will mark Texas Tech's first ever appearance on the ESPN Family of Networks.

"We couldn't be more excited that ESPN has decided to carry our series opener at Baylor," Tech head coach Shanon Hays said. "This is another sign of where this program has come over the past three seasons and we are looking forward to showcasing this team in front of a national audience."

The Big 12 television schedule includes five conference games this season that will air on either ESPN or Fox Sports. Additional television appearances are still possible through other Big 12 broadcast partners and institutional contacts.

Texas Tech also announced changes on Friday to the season-opening Sportco Kick-Off Classic held Feb. 8-10 in Las Vegas, Nev. The Red Raiders will now play Central Florida and No. 16 Louisville in an opening-day doubleheader followed by games the following day against Minnesota and host UNLV. Tech closes the weekend with a Sunday morning contest against DePaul.

The Red Raiders and Central Florida are scheduled for an 11 a.m. CT first pitch at Eller Media Stadium.
