53-year old Donnie Wright pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement of funds by a bank employee Thursday in federal court.

Wright remains to be sentenced.

U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings ordered a sentencing date to be set after the completion of a pre-sentence investigation report.

Wrights faces up to 30 years, a $1-million fine and restitution.

According to investigators, while as a branch manager for Bank of America in Lubbock, Wright embezzled funds from Community Baptist Church in Lubbock.

At the time, Wright was also a member of the Board of Deacons and Trustee at Community Baptist Church.
