California residents will soon be hearing radio and television advertisements from Texas Governor Rick Perry.
"Texas is poised at the brink of a new era of prosperity and we hope you'll take part. Come to Texas we're wide open for business," said Governor Perry in the ad.
"Well I think its just to make them aware of how enthusiastic Texans are for the economy here and what the advantages are," said Steve Anderson with the Small Business Development Center.
Anderson says in the last few years he's worked with many companies looking to make the
move to Texas.
"The lower taxes, the availability of training for the work force, just the cost of doing business is much better here so we would get a lot of inquiries and those are the advantages that those companies would tell us they see in Texas," said Anderson.
Vice President at RD Thomas Advertising Ashleigh Sawyer says this campaign is brilliant.
"Advertising 101 says go where the people are so Governor Perry's office obviously is targeting a state in which the economic climate is not favorable and certainly is not as favorable as it is in Texas," said Sawyer.
She says California's state legislation and policies tend just aren't good for small businesses.
"I think its a really smart strategy to go after a place where things just always seem to work against small business and this coming from a state that sort of reinvented the wheel in the last 7-8 years in making small business incredibly profitable for people," said Sawyer.
So what does the Governor of California think of the governor of Texas on his air waves? He's not too happy.
