Dangerous County Road Needs Attention

Monday's two vehicle rollover on Woodrow Road is just one of many accidents that happen on what some are calling the 'most dangerous road' in the county.
And with continual growth in South Lubbock and Cooper High School near the road, many folks are saying enough is enough.
County Commissioner, Bill McCay, says the county widened Woodrow Road last year, but growth in the area has brought more traffic to Woodrow and unfortunately more accidents.
"With the amount of traffic, we need a boulevard on these county roads. They need to reflect multiple lanes, turning lanes, and those things take time and money and planning to put those things in place," Commissioner McCay says.
Woodrow's Volunteer Fire Department says it responds to just as many accidents or more on Woodrow Road than it does fires in the area.
