breaking news
In Lockney on Tuesday, memorial services were held for 28-year-old Army Staff Seargeant Wesley Hunter, who passed away last Thursday. Hunter joined the military after graduating from Lockney High School in 1998. He was wounded in an insurgent attack in Iraq back in 2006. As a result of his bravery, he was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He was continuing to recover at Fort Drum in New York and was in Lockey last week for his high school reunion. Hunter passed away in his sleep on Thursday, most likely as a result of lingering battle wounds. Says brother Jeff, "One day when his children look back on their fathers life, they will know that it was a life well-lived, a life of service, and a life of sacrifice."
