LUBBOCK, Texas (February 9, 2013) - Nicole Hampton recorded her 13th double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead No.4 Lubbock Christian University to a 73-45 Sooner Athletic Conference victory over Oklahoma Baptist University Saturday afternoon inside Rip Griffin Center.

The first half was full of runs and momentum shifts. Oklahoma Baptist opened the game with a 5-0 run before LCU scored their first points leading to a 13-0 run for a 13-5 lead with 14:40 remaining in the first half. OBU countered with a 6-0 run and LCU answered back with a 5-0 run for a 18-13 lead midway through the first half. The Lady Bison, with eight points in the half by Zbeyda Aremi, trailed LCU 26-23 with 3:37 left in the half, but then things started falling apart for OBU. LCU closed the half on a 10-2 run for a 36-25 halftime lead.

OBU went the final 6:22 of the first half without a field goal. Carrying over into the second half, it turned into a span of 7:24 until Charity Fowler hit a three-pointer for the Lady Bison to end the dry spell. They would go another 6:53 until scoring another field goal. The two runs without a field goal calculated into a span of 14:17 in which the Lady Bison had just two field goals. By the time the streak ended, it was 53-33 with LCU leading and 12:05 remaining.

Overall in the game, OBU was held to six three-point field goals and eight two-point field goals, as they were 14-of-56 from the field (25%). They were also forced into 18 turnovers. LCU outscored OBU 28-8 in the paint and shot 41.1% (23/56) from the field. Hampton was joined in double-figures by teammates Kelsey Canavan (12 points), Emily Atkins (10 points) and Kelsey Hoppel (10 points). Oklahoma Baptist received 14 points from Fowler and 10 points from Aremi.

LCU sweeps the season series against OBU for a third consecutive regular season. The win improved LCU to 23-2 overall and 10-2 in SAC play, while OBU falls to 12-11 overall and 5-7 in conference. The Lady Chaps begin a three-game road trip next week starting play Thursday in Claremore, Okla. against Rogers State University.
