Rick Santorum Makes Stop in Lubbock to Support Heartline Clinic

Former senator Rick Santorum made a stop in Lubbock to support the Heartline Women's Clinic.

Hundreds filled the Overton Hotel to hear Santorum, a pro-life advocate, give the keynote speech.

"I just really wanted to come out and help bless this organization that does so much good for women in Lubbock and really for families in Lubbock in general. And also to see Rick Santorum because I believe he is a great politician and a great conservative man who has done wonders for our country," said Chase Tidmore, who attended the event.

Tidmore was excited to see one of his favorite politicians step out in support of Lubbock's Heartline Clinic.

"Whether you are pro-life or pro-choice its just good to support people you know and I think that is the great thing about him. He is one that just supports families in general," said Tidmore.

"This is a mission, a labor of love to try to save lives and hearts and souls and that is something that is worth getting out on a Sunday night in Lubbock to support," said former Senator Rick Santorum.

Santorum says besides politics, helping out organizations like Heartline is his passion.  

"They're showing what the pro-life movement is all about. They're showing it's about love, its about caring for the mom who is going through a difficult time, having a horrific decision to have to make. And the great thing about Heartline is that they are there no matter what the decision is," said Santorum.

Santorum says Heartline represents a growing pro-life movement that provides support to women in crisis, without judgment.   

"For a long time the pro-life movement was sort of seen as a bunch of bible thumping mountain top moralizers who were sort of pointing their finger at everybody saying you are doing the wrong things and you know this is murder this is evil. And I do believe its murder and I do believe its evil but that is not talking to people where they are," he said.
