Its not very often an NBA and NCAA champion coach is in the Texan Dome.

But that was the case for South Plains Colleges match-up with New Mexico College. Larry Brown was on hand to watch Yanick Moreira, who has verbally committed to SMU.

And he made his mark early on with a jumper to give the Texans a 2-0 lead.

SPC kept it going with a put back dunk by Anthony Walker to make it 6-2.

But the Thunderbirds would make it happen with their defense, using a Texan turnover to get a fast break layup.

The Texans had an answer with tough bucket inside by Ryan Martin to make it 8-4.

In the end, it took overtime but SPC came away with a 73-69 win.
