LUBBOCK, Texas --
Texas Tech has a lot of similarities this season with the year 2004.
Tech (18-6, 8-4 Big 12) is off to its best start since the 2004-05 season and has won its most
road games (five overall, four in Big 12) since 2004-05.
It probably wouldn't mind winning in Waco for the first time since 2004 when the Lady Raiders
take on No. 1 Baylor at 6 p.m. CT at the Ferrell Center.
The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports Southwest, marking Texas Tech's 11th appearance on TV
- on pace to have its most TV appearances since, yes, 2004.
The
Lady Raiders won its last two games and completed season sweeps of West
Virginia (76-63) and
TCU (64-46) last week to end a two-game losing skid. Senior Casey Morris
led the team in points each game with 20 and 18 while Christine Hyde
had a breakout game on the boards Saturday.
The
senior forward collected a career-high 16 rebounds to go with 10 points
to record her first
career double-double. Tech had four scorers in double figures for the
second consecutive game, including Kelsi Baker (15) and Chynna Brown
(13).
Brown posted double digit numbers for the 11th time in 12 games and is averaging 15.6 points per
game in Big 12 play.
Baylor
(22-1, 12-0) is looking to extend its Big 12 Conference game winning
streak to 35 on Tuesday.
Tech remains as the last team to win a Big 12 Conference game against
Baylor (Feb. 19, 2011). Baylor has not lost a Big 12 game at home since
March 7, 2010 (70-54 vs Texas).
