No one gave Monterey a chance. Why would they? The Lady Plainsmen were just 16-15, facing one of the best teams in 4A, but they didn't seem to care.

In the 1st quarter Amarillo's Ja'lee Carver took the ball coast to coast and laid it in to make it 10-8 Amarillo.

At the end of the first, Monterey was down two when Courtney Lawley knocked down the triple, and it was 11-10 Monterey after one.

In the 2nd quarter, off the inbounds pass, Lexi O'Hair knotted the game at 15.

Later in the 2nd, its Lawley again, putting the Lady Plainsmen back in front, 23-21.

In the 4th, Lexi Hightower bombed a three pointer, and Amarillo high had the 47-46 lead.

But Monterey just kept hanging in there and Sidnee Harrison, drilled the three pointer

And Monterey got the huge upset win over 12th ranked Amarillo, 57-51
