1. Olympic 'Blade Runner' Charged with Murder After Girlfriend Shot Dead
Oscar Pistorius, the Olympic and Paralympics athlete known as the "blade runner," was charged with murder in South Africa today after his girlfriend was shot and killed at his home.
2. Couple Chris Dorner Took Hostage Speaks Out
The married couple that Chris Dorner took hostage held a press conference Wednesday night, saying they walked into the unit and realized it was the reported fugitive ex-cop holed up inside. They say all the Dorner said he wanted from them was their car.
3. Carnival Offering $500 to Stranded Passengers
Carnival is offering the 4,220 people stuck on the stranded Triumph cruise ship an additional $500 in compensation for their hardship. The ship is currently being hauled by tugboats to Mobile, Alabama where it is expected to arrive this morning.
4. American Airlines and US Airways to Merge
American Airlines and US Airways will merge to create the biggest airline in the world. The boards from both companies approved the merger on Wednesday. The carrier will keep the American Airlines name.
5. Baby Spinach Recalled in E. coli Scare
A California company is recalling packages of baby spinach that could be contaminated with E. coli. The labels subject to voluntary recall are under five different labels in 36 states. Taylor Farms Retail says no illnesses have been reported.
