IRS Asks Tax Payers To Be Patient With Refunds

By: Allison Morrison
Updated: February 15, 2013
The IRS says it's being overwhelmed with users looking for their tax refunds.

The U.S. government agency is asking tax payers to quit checking the status of their refunds so frequently-- saying once a day is enough.

You can check the status of your refund by visiting www.irs.gov and clicking on "Where's My Refund?"

The IRS says the site is only updated once a day and to avoid delays, you should check the status of your refund in the evenings and on weekends.
