Well it was opening day here on the South Plains as the Tim Tadlock era officially began tonight as they opened the Brooks Wallace memorial classic against Northern Illinois.

Coach Tim Tadlock's debut as the skipper of the Red Raider baseball program and Dominic Moreno was on the mound and looking good early with a strikeout to end the bottom of the first.

In the bottom half of the frame after a lead off walk, Coronado product Mason Randolph dropped one in over the shortstop's head and that scored the first run of the season its 1-0.

Now in the bottom of the 2nd, Brett Bell dropped one into right field bringing home another run making it 2-0.

And with Moreno on the mound, thats all they would need as he K'd Connor Duckhorn looking in the 3rd. Moreno goes six innings striking out 11, most K's on opening day in 17 years. Coach Tadlock begins his coaching career with a big 8-0 win over Northern Illinois.
