Exactly 20 years ago to the day the 1993 National Championship Lady Raiders beat Texas in our state's capitol, which helped jump start its title run.
So it's quite fitting that the present Lady Raiders hosted the Longhorns on this very special day.
Getting things going, Christine Hyde drove inside for two and the lead, Tech 12-11.
Chassidy Fussell pulled up for the jumper to gain the lead, Texas up 15-12. She led her team with 27 pts.
But Tech comes back, in transition Casey Morris, makes the long bounce pass to Chynna Brown for the layup, part of a 15-0 run and Tech up by three, 22-19.
Later in the second half, Texas' Fussell from behind the arc to take a one-point lead, 38-37.
But Casey Morris got her turn with the three, Tech 40-38.
Empress Davenport hit a long jumper to pull her team within four.
Kelsi Baker drops the long three as the shot clock ran out, Tech 57-47.
Texas Tech rolls on, winning 69-62.
