Getting things going, Christine Hyde drove inside for two and the lead, Tech 12-11.
Chassidy Fussell pulled up for the jumper to gain the lead, Texas up 15-12. She led her team with 27 pts.
But Tech comes back, in transition Casey Morris, makes the long bounce pass to Chynna Brown for the layup, part of a 15-0 run and Tech up by three, 22-19.
Later in the second half, Texas' Fussell from behind the arc to take a one-point lead, 38-37.
But Casey Morris got her turn with the three, Tech 40-38.
Empress Davenport hit a long jumper to pull her team within four.
