1. 14 Injured, 2 Missing After Kansas City Explosion

Two people are missing and at least 14 are injured after a natural gas explosion in Kansas City, Missouri on Tuesday night. Early indications suggest that a contractor doing underground work struck a natural gas line but the investigation is ongoing.

2. Winter Storm Pummels California

A winter storm brought colder temperatures, rain, some snow and a rare tornado to California on Tuesday. The tornado, which came with wind speeds between 40 and 70 miles per hour, was spotted in the Sacramento area on Tuesday afternoon and caused little damage.

3. Traffic Fatalities Up 5 percent in 2012

Traffic fatalities spiked 5 percent in 2012, according to preliminary state data. This number reverses a seven-year decline. An estimated 36,200 people died in traffic accidents last tear, the National Safety Council announced Tuesday.

4. Kentucky Town Invaded by Thousands of Blackbirds

A town in Kentucky is dealing with an invasion of thousands of blackbirds in trees. The Audubon Society says the mild temperatures this winter are keeping the birds from flying south.

5. Starbucks Most Expensive Drink? $47.30

The Quadriginoctuple Frap -- a 40-shot, 52-ounce Starbucks drink served with a box of donuts, has broken the record for the chain's most expensive drink, cashing in at $47.30. This breaks the previous $23.60 record.
