Local Firefighters Travel Hundreds of Miles to Support Fallen Heroes

Lieutenant Lance Hamilton and Randy Lammons are two Lubbock firefighters who were among the hundreds that traveled to Bryan Wednesday to honor fallen firefighters Greg Pickard and Eric Wallace.
Hamilton and Lammons volunteered to travel the 435 miles to show their support for the two fallen heroes and their stations.
Both Bryan firefighters died at the same fire-- one...trying to rescue the other.
The Lubbock Fire Department gave Hamilton and Lammons a car and gas money to get there.
Hamilton said the 150-firetruck procession was a celebration of life and a way to honor their brothers.
"There's a brotherhood," said Hamilton. "We all do the same type job and were all in the same situations at times. It's a great support system. Down there they actually had the Houston Fire Department come in and ran their stations for them, so all their guys on duty could go to it."
Hamilton said there is about 100 firefighter line of duty deaths each year and the LFD tries to attend all of the ones that take place in Texas.
