When they arrived in the 4400 block of Kemper Avenue, in Northwest Lubbock near Eskine and Quaker, they found the victim, who was grazed in the leg by a bullet while sitting in his house.
His injury is not considered life-threatening.
Police were actively searching for evidence in the street and around the house. Several bullet holes were found in one front window of the house.
Police have not said if they have any suspects, or have made any arrests.
Other people in the house would not comment on what happened.
