Texas, last year's Big 12 championship winners, has been unanimously selected to claim the 2013 regular season crown by a vote of the league's head coaches. UT received nine first-place votes to secure the top spot over Baylor, which tallied one first-place nod. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team in the poll.

Texas returns six student-athletes from the 2012 squad that landed at No. 10 in the final ITA team poll, advanced to the NCAA Championship's round of 16 and won the Big 12 Championship. The No. 14 Longhorns currently sit at 3-4 after recently getting a road win at No. 9 Northwestern.

The 19th-ranked Baylor Lady Bears are 4-7 after playing eight top-25 opponents already this year. Last season, BU finished the year ranked 13th in the country and reached the NCAA round of 16 for an eighth consecutive season.

Texas Tech was picked to finish third with 65 points while TCU was chosen fourth with 54 points to give the Big 12's Texas schools the top four teams in the poll.

Behind the Lone Star state quartet, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Kansas State are seperated by only 12 points in spots five through seven, respectively. The remainder of the poll consists of Kansas, Iowa State and West Virginia.

Big 12 women's tennis conference action begins on March 8.
