Man Faces Big Tow Bill After Getting Stuck In Snow

"$648 to tow a vehicle 14 miles, is ridiculous," said Greg Hurley.
Hurley called KLBK News angry at the bill he was stuck with after his car was towed.
"I just think they gauged us," Hurley said, "I honestly do."
Hurley said during the peak of Monday's blizzard his car got stuck on a Farm to Market road in east Lubbock County.
"I had my son to come with his 4-wheel drive try to pull me out," said Hurely, "We couldn't get it to budge, so we left it and was going to come back the next morning to pull it out."
But when they went back the next day, Hurley said the car was gone.
He said law enforcement called a towing company on an incident management call because Hurley's tail end was sticking out in the road and a danger for other drivers.
"All the towing charges and all the fees came up to $648."
We called the towing company who said depending on the situation charges can easily add up, and for towing companies across Lubbock this weeks blizzard did just that for many people, including Hurley.
"The wind was blowing 60 miles an hour and my face was as red as a beet," he said. "I had a big heavy coat with gloves and I'm telling you it was terrible and for them to do that after trying to get it out ourselves, it's just wrong that's all there is to it."
But Hurley said he simply feels cheated and taken advantage of.

It'[censored] funny how people complain about being gauged when they don't listen. When it snows and you drive out in BAD weather you take chances in getting stuck or being in an accident. The best thing for someone to do is stay at home and therefore won't have anything to be gauged about. Next time listen to the news and remain inside as cautioned!!!!
