After nearly a month on the road the Texas Tech softball team will finally get to play on its home turf.

The Red Raiders start a 12-game home stand starting this weekend with the Texas Tech Invitational kicking off Friday. The ladies will play Jackson State at 3:30 p.m. in its home opener that day and they say they're looking forward to being in front of their fans.

Also, a former member of the Red Raider softball team, Emily Bledsoe, has signed to play professional ball in Italy.

In a couple of weeks she will depart for Europe where she will join the Des Caserta Organization in the Italian Softball League.Bledsoe is a career .317 hitter, a three-time All-Big 12 Second Team selection, and ranks among the Top 10 in Big 12 history in doubles.

She says when her old Coach Kristie Fox called her with the opportunity, she couldn't pass it up.
