Police Release New Details About Wednesday Night Car Chase In South Lubbock

Lubbock police released new details about a car chase that happened Wednesday night.

It happened just after 7:00 p.m.

According to a police report, an officer tried to stop a 1995 Lincoln Town Car, but the driver, 29-year-old Jeremy Gomez, sped off.

Gomez led officers on a short chase on and around 82nd Street, before crashing near 82nd and Indiana.

Police say Gomez ran a red light at the intersection and hit four vehicles.

No one inside those vehicles suffered serious injuries.

Gomez, along with one of his passengers, suffered moderate injuries and he was placed under arrested.

Police believe alcohol may have been a factor.
