The DNA expert discussed the link to Williams, saying the sample had 9 of 16 match point to Williams and also said there was another unknown DNA on Ivey, but is not Williams or Iveys DNA.

After the prosecution rested, the defense asked for a direct acquittal, saying there were no eyewitnesses or fingerprints to link to Williams to the scene.

Judge Underwood denied and defense began calling their witnesses. They had three witnesses, two with LPD, and one who called in a tip to a crimeline the night Ivey was found dead.  He told the court he had driven by the laundromat around 2:30 or 3 a.m. and saw two men inside. He also admitted that after all these years he would not be able to remember exactly who they were if he was shown photos.

One witness from LPD told the court about the fingerprints found on scene, and how none matched Williams.

The other LPD Sargent told the court the he was on patrol and had a role in the initial investigation the morning Ivey's body was found. He said he had a call about a possible female suspect not long after Ivey was found dead, but he also told the court there was no foreign female DNA found on the scene.

Closing arguments will start Thursday morning.
