After Don Long left the Idalou program in January, the Wildcats were looking for a new football coach and athletic director. Today that search ended and they kept it in the family, literally.

Jeff Lofton was named the newest head coach and athletic director. Lofton is the son-in-law of legendary Idalou Head Coach Johnny Taylor, and graduated from Idalou as a student in 1997 and has been a coach on the Wildcats staff since 1999. We tried to contact Coach Lofton but he is already on his way to Austin to help cheer the boys on in the state semi finals Friday morning at 10 a.m.
