The election countdown has begun and if you are planning on voting in this November's election, you have less than a week to register. Next Monday, that's October 6th, is the deadline to register to vote. The Office of Elections has been swamped, answering phones and preparing for early voting.
Voter Registrar, Dorothy Kennedy, encourages folks to take advantage of early voting to avoid long lines on election day.
"You've got twelve days of early voting. Pick the day that's great, weather's going to be good, that you're feeling good, that works with your schedule and go and get your early voting done and get it over with so you're not having to wait in the lines that are going to be just twelve hours for folks to vote on election day," Kennedy says.
Early voting is October 20-31. You can register to vote at any post office or at the Office of Elections.
