The synthetic marijuana ban went into effect Saturday in Lubbock, after a unanimous City Council vote in February.

Sheila Deleon has seen the effects first hand, saying her two 16 year old children have both used the drugs.

Deleon said she will continue to keep an eye on local stores to see if they pull the product.

"It's still going to be out there for them if no one does anything," said Deleon.

KLBK spoke to Mayor Glen Robertson Monday after the ban went into effect. The Mayor said at this point, it's up to law enforcement to make sure the ban is followed.
