Trisha Mackey was over weight and unhappy when she began to use walking DVDs at home.
She started losing weight and found encouragement and tips from people online.
Trisha founded the Walk It Like It's Hot Facebook group so she could help others and find friends to do her daily walks with.
"The first day I did it I felt instantly better after. Everybody I talked to after the walk for the first time they feel better too."
Trisha lost 80 pounds, and while her group is mostly women, she encourages all people to join in.
"Bring your kids, bring your husbands, bring your co workers, anybody that wants to walk. Walking is one hundred percent the best thing you can do for your body, mind, health, spirituality, anything."
Trisha and the group use pedometers to count their steps every day and set walking goals. It only takes 15 minutes a day to see and feel an improvement in your body and Trisha said no one is too busy for a 15 minute walk.
"If you have 15 minutes in your day, if you are spending 15 minutes on Facebook, you have 15 minutes to walk at home."
