Tadlock Gained Momentum Before Conference Play

Texas Tech recorded its fifth shutout of the season while sweeping its midweek series with Utah Valley on Wednesday while getting a 6-0 victory over the Wolverines at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
Texas Tech improves to 12-7 overall and Utah Valley drops to 7-10. The Red Raiders open Big 12 play this weekend at Texas (March 15-17).
Sophomore RHP Corey Taylor pitched seven shutout innings allowing just one hit with 12 strikeouts and one walk allowed.
Junior catcher Mason Randolph went 4-for-4 while catching Taylor and the Red Raiders pitching staff that combined for 14 strikeouts. Randolph also had two RBI.
Texas Tech opens Big 12 play at Texas this weekend before returning back to Lubbock next Tuesday, March 19 to host Arizona State. It will be the first time since 2006 that the Sun Devils will have played Tech in Lubbock. Last season the Red Raiders defeated then-No. 10 Arizona State in Tempe.
