The Tech Baseball team was trying to sweep away Utah Valley last night before hitting the road for Big 12 play this weekend.
Coach Tadlock was also trying to move to 10-2 at home this season.
In the bottom of the 3rd, the bases were loaded when Bryant Burleson chopped one down the line, and as the third baseman fielded the ball he had to hurry the throw, everyone would be safe, which allowed Mason Randolph to come in and score to make 1-0 Red Raiders.
In the next inning, Jake Barrios was at the plate and singled through the left side, which extended his hit streak to six games and the lead to 3-0.
Then in the 5th, with Corey Taylor still on the hill, he was lights out, as he got the strikeout to end the inning, one of his 12 strikeouts in the game.
And the Red Raiders took the broom to Utah Valley by a final of 6-0. It was a pretty good way to head into the conference opener, but Tech still has some room to grow.
