New Name and Management For Highland

Highland Hospital has a new name and new management. The hospital will now be called Doctor's Hospital of Lubbock. The operators of Highland Hospital filed for bankruptcy back in May and is now owned by a group called Lubbock Heritage Hospital, Inc.
The hospital's CEO, Charley Trimble, is a familiar face in the Lubbock medical field, having worked at both Covenant and UMC Hospitals. Trimble says he has high hopes for the future of the new Doctor's Hospital.
"There are many patients that have come through these doors, either as elected patients or through the emergency room, and so I guess it's in their memory that we keep this place going," Trimble says.
Trimble says the hospital sits in a 'medically underserved' area of town, so he's hoping these changes will make a difference to the people in that area.
