Local Reactions from VP Debate

We caught up with folks from both parties tonight, and we tried to get a consensus of who was winning the debate -- of course that was a split decision, but both parties were firm in their opinions. Democrats met up at Murphys Irish Pub -- complete with cars decorated with Obama signs and even some Sarah Palin Bingo cards to entertain during the debate. Over at 50th Street Caboose, it was a little more subdued scene for the Republicans, but still some strong opinions.
It seems Sarah Palin really has taken center stage. Both Democrats and Republicans are putting a lot of focus on her. Republicans of course cheering her on, Democrats scrutinizing her every word.
"Hands down Palin, she's winning" says Jack Kyle, Republican.
"I think Biden, of course i think Biden!" says Judy Rainger, Democrat.
"She's saying what she's been trained to say." says Denise Calhoun, Democrat.
"I dont think hes got a mind of his own to be honest with you, if he had a brain he'd take it out and play with it." says John Walden, Republican.
"She's out of her league, she just doesn't know what she's talking about. She's been coached, but she doesn't have the depth, doesn't have the experience, and i find her a little bit embarrassing. I would be so appalled if she got to be vice-president." added Rainger.
"He knows what he's talking about, he's not babbling, he's not looking at the podium, he's not reading notes." added Calhoun.
"I think she's practiced a lot, she's more concise, she's more to the point, but she just doesn't address the issues." added Rainger.
"She's got her facts and she's got the truth and the truth always wins out." added Kyle.
Both parties thought their candidate was the clear winner. Of course in any presidential race there will be a gray area. Either way this election will be an interesting, and a passionate one for folks here in the Hub City.
