A modified version of the federal government's bailout plan received overwhelming support from the Senate Wednesday night, passing with a vote of 74 to 25.

Texas senators John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchinson for the issue. Today -- Senator Cornyn is here in the Hub City, visiting Tech's Wind Energy Institute. During the visit, Senator Cornyn made it quite clear his devotion to improving wind energy technology. But he says wind energy is just one of his main focuses right now. He of course just returned from Washington, where he voted for the federal government's revised bailout plan.

With all eyes on that plan and the vote Wednesday night, Cornyn says he has faith it can help the nation's financial institutions recover, before it has the ability to destroy our economy.

"The people I work for are the 24 million people of Texas, my focus is on them, to try and make sure that they have jobs and an opportunity to put food on the table, and provide for their families. I think this situation we've found ourselves in was deplorable, but rather than stand by and watch things go into the tank, economically, people out of work, I felt like this was the best option on the table." said Cornyn.
