LUBBOCK, TX: Former Monterey baseball player Chad Bettis decides to play for the Red Raiders instead of playing for the Houston Astros. Bettis' decision took weeks to make, but he feels it is the right decision. Bettis was an all-state selection this past year for the Plainsmen and turned down a large sum of cash to lace up with the Red Raiders. He will be with the Red Raiders at least three years before he can decide to turn pro.
