One man is dead tonight, and another in custody after a shooting in west Lubbock. 25-year-old Steven Torres is in custody for the shooting death of 24-year-old James Daniel Green. According to police, Torres and Green got into an altercation at the Town and Country gas station on 19th and Milwaukee. Green had backed his vehicle into Torres' truck and when Green got out to exchange information, a fight ensued. Torres then pulled out a gun and fired a shot into the air. At that point police say the victim took off in his car. Torres got into his vehicle and pulled up along side of green, shooting into the car. Green was hit and crashed his car at into a utility pole on the Loop and 24th Street. He died from his wounds.

Police say it's an all too real example of road rage.

Says Sgt. Jimmy Pachall, "The victim was trying to reconcile the damages that he inflicted on the vehicle. Ultimately someone was killed over a very minor traffic accident."
