Lubbock Police are warning of local scam artists selling fake diamonds.  They've released surveillance photos of one of the suspects inside Gordon's Jewelers in the South Plains mall.

Police say the suspects, two men and a woman, sold fake diamonds to an elderly woman.  They told her the diamonds were real, and she payed over $12,000 dollars for them.  When she tried to sell them later, she found out they were all fake.  Now local jewelers say in this scenario, you can't be sure the quality or the authenticity you're buying.

Marc Majors, Owner of Sam L. Majors Jewelers:
"There's definitely some good fakes and the diamond market can be very lucrative and people know this and they will take a shot at you whenever they think they have a chance to make a quick dime on it.  So you have to be very careful."
