Flu season is almost here and doctors say you need to protect yourself.  Last year, the entire US was hit hard by the flu.

Doctors say many people believe that you can actually get the flu from your flu
shot. In fact, the virus in the shot is inactive and won't make you sick. So they say, there's no excuse not to get vaccinated.

Dr. Jeffrey Hannel with Grace Clinic says, "You always hope nobody gets sick, but you have to plan for the worst. The more people that get their flu shots, Lubbock will provide more of a herd immunity, which means that it can't live here for very long.

    Says Pharmacist Tracey Carruthers,
"Flu season actually extends thru March so the CDC recommends that you get flu shots all the way thru December, so definitely lots of time to get it still."
