A bizarre string of burglaries lead police to two homes, ending with a car chase. Now three people are in custody.
Police got the call around noon that a car had been stolen from a residence in Southwest Lubbock. Shortly after that, they received another call to come to a nearby neighborhood, where a homeowner came home to catch someone in the act of burglarizing his home.
Police were in the middle of trying to find the stolen car, when the call came that the homeowner who caught the burglar, fired shots at the intruder. The burglar then ran to a car waiting outside with two other people in it.
Police say an On Star search told them the getaway car was the stolen one from earlier, they then chased the three -- two men, one woman -- for about 15 minutes. All three were arrested shortly afterwards.
The suspects are 24-year-old Robert Schubert Junior, 22-year-old Eric Milleer McGahey, and 24-year-old Anna Leigh McDougal. They remain in police custody tonight.
Police say one of those suspects was just released from jail in the last 24 to 48 hours.
We spoke with the couple who's car was stolen, they are happy to have their car back. Police are still investigating this case, of course we'll keep you updated with all the latest details.
