Search for Missing Children Ends in Oklahoma

This all started last Friday, when the parents of 8-year-old Angel Contreras, 11-year-old Jasmine Bazan, and 15-year-old Lashawnda Theriac let their kids go on a trip to Six Flags in Arlington with 41-year-old Kenneth Michael Wilcox and his son. He promised to bring the kids back Sunday afternoon, but never showed up. When the parents and police found out Wilcox had dropped off his own son in Amarillo, and headed east with the other children, they issued a local amber alert Monday night. Within a few hours, around 11:30 p.m., sheriff's deputies in Oklahoma found Contreras and Theriac at Wilcox's cousin's house in Idabel, Oklahoma, but Bazan was still missing. Police say Wilcox had Bazan through the night until about 8:30 Tuesday morning when Oklahoma authorities stopped Wilcox at a checkpoint, and found the 11-year-old in his car.
Police say at first look all the children appear to be fine, physically, but they will continue investigating to see exactly what happened between Wilcox and the children from Lubbock to Oklahoma. Wilcox is being held in the McCurtain County Jail in Oklahoma until he's extradited here to Lubbock. His bond has been set at $750,000 and he's facing charges of aggravated kidnapping. We're told he could also end up facing some federal charges in this case because it does appear he took the kids across state lines.
