Wind Hits Raiderville

The tents are back up this week, and although Raiderville may be a bit quieter of a scene, it's not keeping the students from camping out -- wind, or cold.
The Raiderville tents are back up, and it's tempting to say these kids are really roughing it for two weeks straight. But, come on, TV's and XBoxes... not quite.
The real test though is coming tonight, when the temperature is set to drop, and these South Plains Winds will hit the tents.
In fact -- this afternoon it's already taken it's toll on several tents at the front of the line.
We found several kids out here, sweeping out debris, laying out sand bags, bricks... Anything to try and keep the wind at bay, heir tents up, and themselves warm before the temps get cold.
Alex Gibson, Raiderville Resident: "I'm gonna go get some heaters from somebody, they camp all the time, so they've got some stuff. But we've got plenty of blankets, and a mattress and stuff."
David McDaniel, Raiderville Resident: "It's gonna be cold, but we've got blankets and stuff out here, hopefully with these blocks it will hold everything down and we'll be good to go till Saturday.
Now -- the tents at the front of the line are getting the brunt of the wind, and it seems the farther back you are the less wind you get.
But who knows... front row seats, or a better night's rest?
The kids at the front of the line say it's a fair trade and well worth the extra wind.
