A burglar remains on the loose tonight after he beat an elderly man overnight in a home invasion.

Ken and Doris Forson live in Central Lubbock.

Just after 2:00 a.m., a man dressed in all black with black face paint, broke in through their garage door.

When Ken went to check on the noise, he was severly beaten by the intruder with his own cane.

Doris locked herself in the bedroom and called police.

That apparently spooked the intruder who then fled.

"I came out of my bedroom and opened the door and didn't come out of it and Ken told me, 'Just shut your bedroom door and lock it and call 9-1-1,' and I did what he said, and he really saved my life," Doris Forson said.
