Jones AT&T Stadium is about to get much bigger.

Tech officials have announced that the fundraising effort to expand the Jones succeeded.

The $25 million expansion plan for the east side of the stadium was announced in early August and today, university officials announced they've raised enough money to begin construction.

The project will add 20 new suites and 500 more club seats.

In all, the expansion will add at least a thousand more seats to the 53,000 seat capacity.

"We're in the national spotlight.  This is big news and if there's ever been a time to finish what you're doing on the stadium is right now and so it's an exciting time for us," Tech Chancellor Kent Hance says.

A groundbreaking ceremony will take place before the Baylor game- that's on November 29th.
