Tech students hear from a school director who's touching the lives of children in Africa. D'Andrea Weeks works with Child Voice International's school in the African nation of Uganda.
It's a program that's focused on rehabilitating children who have been forced to commit unspeakable acts of violence against their families and others. These 'child soldiers' are the victims of a long-running civil war in Uganda.
Weeks says at the school, they focus on counseling and educating young mothers, who are trying to recover from the brutal experience, "It just is an incredibly rewarding experience because we're seeing so much transformation in these girls, and that makes it all worth it."
