Thanksgiving is almost upon us and that means many more people, not only on the road to travel, but to shop.
But officials are saying while you are out, to take extra safety precautions.
The day after Thanksgiving, or Black Friday as it's called, is undoubtedly one of the biggest shopping days of the year across the country and it's no different here in Lubbock.
Despite hard economic times, mall officials at the South Plains Mall expect a huge turnout the day after Thanksgiving.
They've stepped up mall security, both inside the mall and around the parking lot to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable shopping experience.
"Because of the large crowds, we, of course, have a large security staff and they will be out and about helping shoppers if they need it, helping our stores if they need assistance with anything and we also have outside patrol so really, it's important to us that our shoppers feel safe while they're out enjoying the holidays with their friends and family," Beth Bridges with the South Plains Mall says.
Security officers will also be available to escort you to your car after you're done shopping if you should need help.
