Thanksgiving is a day you spend with family and friends, but every year one Lubbock woman shares her holiday with the people who don't have anyone. Last year we brought you the story of Marlena Gomez, a Meals on Wheels volunteer who makes her own homemade turkey dinners and passes them out to the homeless and less fortunate on Thanksgiving. This year a cousin drove Gomez around, making the event a family affair and passing out meals downtown.

"Some people choose to be homeless, others have no other choice. But in my eyes they're my brothers and sisters," says Gomez.

This is Gomez's fourth year delivering meals on Thanksgiving. She says her duty to serve others comes first before any meals or time with her own family Thursday.
