Employees from the Medical Examiner's Office say their lives, and careers, have been put on hold. While they wish to stay anonymous, this group of concerned employees say they've been left in the dark ever since officials at Texas Tech's Health Sciences Center announced plans to give up control of the ME's office. Once the current contract expires, Lubbock County will take over the ME office, and County Commissioner Bill McCay says they are meeting with ME employees to work towards a smooth transition."Things have been up in the air a little bit and we're working in Lubbock County to move some folks in that office to assure them that we have their best interest at heart," says McCay.
Texas Tech's contract with the Medical Examiner's Office expires in September of next year.
