"I'm going for sure. My flight's already booked."

One of the benefits to the Cotton Bowl...just an hour's flight away.  So fans like Jonathan Lindsey booked travel even before Tech's bowl was certain.  But other fans aren't so excited.

"I thought we got the shaft. We got the short end of the stick. I think we should have been further up in a BCS bowl, you know."
"I think they deserve the right as anyone else to go to the BCS bowl. Cincinnati and Virginia Tech didn't do much this year and they're going to BCS and Texas Tech's gotta sit back and go to the Cotton Bowl. I don't think it's right."

The fans are optimistic, already guaranteeing a win for the Red Raiders over the Rebels.  Ole Miss hasn't been in a bowl since 2004 and they had Eli Manning leading them to a victory. "It's Ole Miss.  We're gonna win for sure."

But the two times Tech has squared off against the Rebels in a bowl game, Ole Miss came out on top.  Jay Cooper says not this year. "They're gonna tear Ole Miss up this year." Now, as fans pack their bags to head for Dallas in January, they're hoping for an even better season next year, with Leach leading the way.

"It was a good season, a good year and hopefully we'll have another one next year. yeah and hopefully leach comes back too."
