The legal and emotional battle surrounding the Texas Tech Club Hockey team could be nearing an end.

As we first told you Monday, the city ended its contract with the hockey team after they failed to pay their rent payment of over $10,000.

On Wednesday we spoke to the hockey team's Business Director, Tim Castleman.

He says several sponsors promised to help the team financially, but most of that money has never materialized.

So, he says if the team doesn't receive donations by the end of the week, either from private donors or sponsors, they'll have to 'pull the switch' on the hockey program.

"I thought after our meeting with City Council, getting our lease signed, I thought we were definitely on the right track.  I mean we had community support, you know, Rock 101 supported us, everyone showed up to the meetings.  We thought, 'Oh this is going to be great, this is going to be the resurgence of hockey here in Lubbock,' but it just never materialized," Business Director Tim Castleman says.
