The cold weather put the brakes on Marsha Sharp Freeway construction today. TXDOTofficials tell us, when the temperature doesn't get above freezing, it limits the kinds of construction materials they can use, so they can't get large-scale work done.

TXDOT even sent many of its employees home for the day. Any crews you see out on the Marsha Sharp Freeway today are simply cleaning up or preparing equipment for tomorrow. Says area engineer Will Barnett, "You try and get as many days as you can, and it always hurts when you can't, but one day is really isn't that big of a deal to the overall completion date of the freeway."
