Tuesday afternoon, contractors drilling fiber-optic lines for TXDOT hit a 20-inch water main at the intersection of Frankford Avenue and the Spur. Area businesses have been without water for more than 24 hours and owners say they are losing money every minute.
Lubbock Water Utility officials say they plugged the break mid-afternoon Thursday and hop to have the water back on by the evening.
Water officials say the utility lines were properly marked before the contractor began drilling.
